PGL Blogging Presentation

[Post Update] Please note that I have updated the URL’s and information below for the Peer Group Learning session in Winchester on the 26 June 2008.

During November 2007 I delivered a presentation to my local Peer Group Learning group in Fareham. My talk was an introduction to blogging and how it can benefit a small business. I’d like to thank everyone that attended, I really enjoyed the session. One of the attendees Gavin Meikle from Inter-activ has already moved his blog from a hosted account with Blogger to a WordPress Install. Well done Gavin!

The PGL sessions are run by our local Business Link team. Thank you to Shanine, Lesley, Lou and Wendy for giving me the opportunity to talk.

Here are a couple URL’s and notes to backup the presentation:

Hi David, thanks for the mention. I am enjoying getting to grips with wordpress and learning lots about business bloggig and how to present my blog better using tools like stumbleupon. One comment on your post, I couldn’t get the link to the sixapart guide to work and had to google it instead.

    Best wishes

Gavin, well done. I love what you’re doing with your blog. Thanks for the heads up on the link, I’ve fixed that today.

Great presentation so far David. 20 minutes to go.

I think the Social Networks are also great blogging places. Your network and other people provide lots of comments. They can be used to drive traffic to your blog.

Andrew your tablet PC is cool, I want one!

I hope the presentation was useful and I agree about the Social Network sites. I’ve been meaning to get into Linkedin – have an account, but have just not done anything with it. Facebook is great, but its not really got a business focus. I will definitely have a look at ecademy as well.
